You’ll have to use a lot of internet to keep up with us at Chuckkle.com. And while the ‘net is useful and fun, it can also be a dangerous place. So you might as well have an idea about how to be a good and safe netizen…here are some tips which will help you go about it. And the information is not only about safety; it is also about how to be a polite citizen… So if you want to be a polite citizen then you need to keep these points in your mind:
Hey! Don’t use bad language. Be polite; being on the net doesn’t mean you can be rude, does it?
Don’t spam. It’s just annoying to get the same mail/message repeatedly.
You know, Caps Lock is like speaking really loudly? Almost like yelling, maybe…so DON’T USE IT….see, you found it rude, didn’t you? My point, precisely.
Don’t send chain mails, please. Apart from being really irritating, they can clog servers and be misunderstood.
Keep messages short and precise.
Don’t address too many issues in messages, and also put titles so that people don’t have too hard a time finding them.
Don’t put “scroll down” messages. It wastes space and is very, very irksome.
If you are sending someone a music file, a video or a picture, try to compress it or at least tell the person how big it is, so they know how much time it will take.
Read the discussion before posting anything so as not to sound silly.
Thank if you receive help.
Don’t copy things which don’t belong to you…it’s stealing. (Sorry if I sounded harsh…I hope you don’t find it too rude…)
Don’t post anything which may be offensive to anybody, even if you find it amusing. It’s not a good thing to hurt anyone’s sentiments, you know.
